Two Lauralton Hall graduates arrested in underage alcohol case

Two graduating seniors from Lauralton Hall hosted a high school birthday party in Greenfield Hill last month charging admission and serving beer to minors. Police say the incident sparked a riot and three students were stabbed. Mary Ellen Quinlan and Megan Garrion, both 18, were charged with sale of alcohol to minors and posted $1500 bonds. They will appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Friday.

Easton Approves School Renovation and Addition Proposals

Easton voters approved an initial appropriation for Samuel Staples Elementary School and Helen Keller Middle School. The Staples plan funds 211000 for floor replacement and repairs, while Helen Keller would add a new wing with a 1150000 project for architectural design, permits, and bidding. A total of 1923 of 4600 registered voters cast ballots, including 123 absentees with two invalid.
