Fairfield Father Killed In Merritt Parkway Crash

A 35 year old Fairfield resident and father of three, Gregory Devos, died in a three car crash on the Merritt Parkway near Ponus Ridge Road at 6 13 a.m. The Range Rover driver Charles Benzyk and the Chrysler driver Thomas Fardy were injured. Benzyk discharged from Stamford Hospital, Fardy listed in fair condition. Police said investigation ongoing with no charges immediately filed. Services for Devos held December 16 at The Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home.

Town saves $2 million on school OCIP insurance program

Fairfield officials announced that participation in an owner controlled insurance program for six building projects including Roger Ludlowe Middle School and the Fairfield Public Library has produced about 2.7 million in savings to date with further reductions expected. The program covered all projects with a 250000 cap on claims and legal actions.
