Embattled Life Gallery pet shop closes on Post Road
The Life Gallery on Post Road, long beset by state violations and protests in 2002, closed last month after owner Richard Bridson's lease expired and he retired. Landlord Carmen Tortora confirmed the closure and noted the shop has been shut about two weeks. Bridson could not be reached, and nearby staff were unaware of any reopening plans. The business faced a $5,000 penalty in 2002, the largest in state history, and lost its license in 2003 after appeals.
