Seniors Share Their Voices at Fairfield Storytelling Night
Ten Fairfield seniors performed dramatic true life stories November 17 at the Fairfield Theatre Company, closing a five week Senior Storytelling Workshop run by Hope Fitzgerald and sponsored by the Fairfield Arts Council. A mix of near death encounters and humor drew a small enthusiastic audience as each senior spoke five to ten minutes using the workshop’s dramatic style. The session included Joyce Willig’s tale The Gift A Love Story and Dottie D Amato’s Letting Go about nearly drowning, plus lighter pieces like Lee Bailes The Onion Caper. The stories explored survival gratitude and humor with audience reactions ranging from gasps to laughter.
