Bernard von Hoffman and his fourteen year old brother Albert won the ninth international balloon race held by the Oklahoma Fair association in Muskogee Oklahoma. The St Louis balloon landed at Ripple Mississippi about four hundred miles from the start. Four other balloons went up but none traveled more than twenty miles. The aviators cited heavy gas and unfavorable air currents.
