Fairfield introduces sixteen new traffic signals to ornament the public square with geraniums and flowers. Twelve inch sewer tiles will hold the plants as decorative guides. Dust control, speed limits, and cutout use will receive attention. notices will warn motorists of enforcement.
A mixed list includes a washing machine and wringer for quick sale at the Journal office, a nine room corner house with big garden for rent or sale, oak paint barrels, Scotch Collie puppies, rebuilt typewriters at deep discounts, an upright piano, shoe cleaning service, and multiple rental ads for five room, three unfurnished upstairs, modern houses, and a double house near the square with contact phones.
W C Wallace a converted ex convict spoke to a sizable audience at the Methodist church last evening and to High School students yesterday morning his subject Have a good time but who pays the bill. He will speak at the Baptist church tomorrow on Why I Became A Thief describing reforms and horrors of Anamosa State Reformatory and Fort Madison State Prison. Public invited. No admission but an offering will be taken.
Linoleum, Mirror, Chairs, Rockers and Stands are offered by Lamerson's Hat Shop. A few trimmed hats remain while Mt. Pleasant Grape Pop is advertised for purchase at many local restaurants.
