Fatal star in back Negro murderously assaults iron worker
A heated quarrel at Malleable Iron Works Saturday afternoon led to Fred Holmes sustaining a deep stab wound and John Crawford being jailed on a murder charge. Children Board Train Theft Attempt Near Ottumwa
Marshall Black attempted to arrest three boys aboard a No. 2 train at Ottumwa as they rode toward Fairfield. Chester Weber pleaded guilty before Esq. Wilson and paid a five cent fine. A stabbing near Mt. Pleasant depot left Minas Morrow wounded after Harry Thomas drew a knife during a drink invitation and fled the scene toward Ottumwa. The victim is expected to recover.
