Mrs. Robert Lynn suffered a fractured skull and severe injuries after falling backward into a cellar way at the HH M Dysart residence on North Court streets Saturday night. She lies at home in serious condition as doctors monitor whether her condition will improve or worsen.

Sioux City May 4 One person seriously injured six slightly hurt and four passenger cars overturned in ditch of Sioux City Omaha Burlington train near Goodwin Nebraska last night. Spreading rain caused the crash. Passengers were thrown from seats and covered with glass and debris. Baggage car overturned. bag gagemaster R. Tinkham rescued through a hole. Death of Leander Petty in Albia mourned by friends
Leander Petty, longtime Fairfield resident and implement dealer, died Sunday at 1 p.m. at the home of his daughter Mrs. W D Junkin in Albia after a period of illness. Born May 25 1830 in Dorset Vermont he leaves four sons from his first marriage and two children with his second wife Martha Whitmore. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at the Junkin home with burial at Evergreen cemetery Burlington.

The Jefferson County Telephone Company held its twelfth annual stockholders meeting at the First National bank. No dividends were declared due to recent investments in a new switchboard and service improvements. Earnings will be reinvested to purchase equipment and expand service for more patrons.
