Mrs J Fred Clarke and Mrs W P Sullivan returned from Des Moines after attending the State Convention of the D A R. Mrs L L Corey and guests of Birmingham visited Mrs Charles Cowles. G A Spielman of Packwood bought the Spiers property on South Main and will move April 1. Ed Bell is ill with diabetes at his North Fifth Street home. J W Rawson of Burlington visited the city. Mrs Ed Glotfelty went to Libertyville. The funeral of Mrs Mason Lewis will be Sunday at two from her Ottawa home. Vera Lindeen, former Burlington Hospital nurse, is ill with an ear condition. Frank Jacobs and Leland Linn bought the Alex Smith restaurant in Lockridge and take possession soon. Mr and Mrs Alva Wright will live in Lockridge with Mrs Giese. The Shields family plan to move to Chicago. Miss Merle Wright has returned from Washington. Beatrice Lally contralto, Miss Mahr soprano, Mr Blake Ottumwa, and ER John Richards Mt. Pleasant will give a sacred concert at St. Alphonsus Mt. Pleasant. George Zika of Ottumwa spent a day in the city.

Enjoyable Meeting of Inter-Church Missionary Society
The Fairfield Union of missionary societies held its thirteenth annual all day meeting at the Christian church with a large attendance. Dr. Louis Jaggard from Africa spoke on missionary work while Mrs. Jaggard addressed women’s conditions. Officers were elected and members praised the sessions and music throughout the day.
