Mrs M C Carpenter Dies After Short Illness
Mrs M C Carpenter wife of Dr C M Carpenter died this morning after a brief illness caused by a complication of diseases. She was born January 6 1861 in Fairfield daughter of Matthew J and Martha Junkin. She married Dr C M Carpenter March 23 1886 and survives. Funeral plans not yet made and are likely for tomorrow. J A Howlett known as Bil Howlett died at 6 30 this morning at his North Sixth Street home after a stroke of paralysis last evening.

Amelia E Barr Passes Away in New York
New York March 12 Amelia E Barr author died at her Richmond Hill home aged nearly eighty eight. She spent early life in obscurity but began novels at fifty and over the next thirty three years produced about two books annually totaling around seventy five works along with many short stories poems and articles.

Grace Stone Zorbaugh Honored For War Work
Grace Stone Zorbaugh, graduate of Western Reserve University College for Women, is praised for war relief work by the Grace Stone Bring Em Back Club. She has aided the American Relief Clearing House in the Somme and helped the Society for Relief of French and Belgians in Armenia.
