Paris reports Allied note charging Germany with breaching the armistice by sinking its own ships at Scapa Flow and permitting the burning of French flags. Blames German admiral for acting in bad faith and seeks punishment and reparations. warns such acts threaten the peace treaty.
The note questions whether the Allies should employ full powers granted by the treaty, especially article 429, if she deliberately violates its provisions. Signed by G. Clemenceau.
A strike of 1,700 textile mill workers at the George H. Gilbert company in Ware and Gilbertville ended. Wages were raised by 14 to 20 percent for the workers.
Washington June 27 Without debate the senate approved a committee amendment to the naval appropriation bill increasing the aviation fund from 15 million to 35 million The bill carries about 782 million compared with 485 million provided by the house
Paris reports Premier Clemenceau informed the German peace delegation that Berlin will be held strictly responsible for unofficial support of any movement against Polish authority in the territory allocated to Poland in Posen and East and West Prussia.

Washington reports that one officer and three enlisted men were killed in recent fighting with anti-Kolchak forces in Siberia. Two men were wounded and one officer and four enlisted men were captured. All casualties were from the Thirty first Infantry. Killed were Lieut Albert Francis Ward Corporal Jesse M Reed and Privates D P Craig and Charles L Flake. Wounded were Corporal George A Jensen and Private Clarence G Crail.
The transport Sierra arrived from St Nazaire with 1 543 troops including the 828th field remount squadron three mobile hospitals the 101st bakery company the 18th sanitary squadron the 52d and 56th hospital trains the 80th transportation corps and the 824th service battalion along with small detachments from the 330th bakery 807th butcher and 66th field artillery.
