British troop transport sunk by German submarine

German submarines sank a British transport under American charter about 700 miles east of the Delaware capes on June 18. Seventy two crew members were missing and four lifeboats reached safety at various ports. the vessel had no troops aboard. The Dwinsk, formerly the Russian C Tietgen, was built in 1897 and owned by Russia before being seized by Britain for troop service.
