Nineteenth Annual Endeavor Convention Closes
The nineteenth annual convention of the tenth district U P S C FE Union of Churches closed in this city after a three day session filled with enthusiasm. Sunrise prayers drew nearly a hundred youths at United Presbyterian. Miss Ethel Kelso guided the Junior hour at English Lutheran. Dr Willis B Parsons spoke at the closing address urging a fixed life purpose. New district officers were elected and the next convention set for Fort Madison in 1910. Miss Margaret Morrow spoke on India mission work and adopted two Indian orphans during her address.

Captain J F Ready Captain E C Johnson and Lieutenant Cum mings returned from Des Moines where they attended the preliminary State Shoot. They earned places on a 21 man squad that will compete for Iowa’s team to the National Shoot at Camp Perry Ohio in August. The list includes Beeson Geist MacDougal Murray Hildebrand and others with scores cited from the event. Sergeant Reuhle of Emmetsburg narrowly missed the squad by two points.

Schedule announced for Iowa Amateur Baseball League
The Iowa Amateur Baseball Association formed yesterday in Fairfield with clubs from Washington Mt Pleasant Fairfield and Eldon setting a three week schedule. The league names Mt Pleasant’s Dr J W Laird as president and W C Smith as secretary treasurer with a planned two games per week per club and a four game weekly umpire circuit.
