Runaway buggy crash near Cedar bridge injures pair
Last night near the Cedar bridge on the Libertyville road a runaway buggy caused a fatal horse crash and injuries to Miss Violet Stansberry of Libertyville and Horace Linder. The couple were thrown from the buggy. the horse died upon impact with the iron railing. Both were brought to their homes after medical help arrived.

May 1910 in Jefferson County brought below average temperatures with early frosts, scattered thunder storms and well distributed rain. Corn was planted as cool weather forced replanting. Decoration Day speakers included C D Leggett, Schell, Culbertson, Cummins, MceKenney and Junkin. A 178 foot skeleton electric light tower was torn down. Marriages occurred in Fairfield Lockridge Round Prairie and Lambirths. notable deaths include Harvey Breeman and Charles Murdock. Accidents included H W Way injury, Thomas Davies horse incident, and Elizabeth Hickenbottom Smith mortuary notes. Historical Society conference attendees and new publications received are noted.

Edna Marie Burgin Williams born June 23 1891 near Columbus City Iowa married Harvey J Williams July 14 1908 in Monmouth NL. She died last evening on West Hempstead Street after months of tuberculosis leaving a husband a eleven month old child. Funeral 4 pm tomorrow at home, burial in Columbus City. Rev C L Tennant officiates.

James Hill Dies at Libertyville After Illness
James Hill 70, early Jefferson County settler, died Saturday night at his Libertyville home after a period of illness. He enlisted in Fairfield during the Civil War and returned to help build the community. Survived by his wife and three children Will, Wesley, and Bertha. Funeral arrangements pending distant relatives' arrival.

Levi S Spitler Dies After Illness in Fairfield
Levi S Spitler died Wednesday afternoon at his daughter Mrs Eugene Droz home two miles south of Fairfield after about two weeks illness. In his eighties he was a longtime Jefferson County resident. Survived by his wife and adopted daughter, the funeral will be held tomorrow at 11 o clock with burial in Birmingham beside his deceased children. Rev Bert Nay of the Primitive Baptist church Mediapolis will conduct the services.

Mr. Norgan of Washington hosted alumni at Alumni field for a Fairfield baseball team reception.
