Muse Wilson aged 58 died at Arlington hospital from injuries after being struck by a Chicago Burlington and Quincy train near Middletown Monday night. He had been pacing along the track all evening and did not hear the approaching locomotive.
A report from Mason City notes Immander R T St John of the Iowa G A R extends thanks for entertainment provided by the Mason post and corps. He expresses appreciation for the era and acknowledges the comfort offered to the injured and distressed. An adjutant general appointment for Geo A Newman is announced with follow on appointments expected after the encampment.
A baseball game between Soy M and the hospital team of Pleasant will be played at 3:30 PM instead of Friday due to a disaster evening. The college hosts the event.
Santa Clara County exhibit arrives at Rock Island at 4 45 p.m. Thursday and displays all day Friday and Saturday June 23 and 24. Each woman with an admission ticket may take a free souvenir from a basket. Each bag contains either a shell or a ticket for a shell and is valuable. The farm will be especially interested in the exhibit.
A boy named Imer Bitner acted quickly when a runaway horse frightened bystander Dr Clarke bolted near the southwest corner of the square. He sprang from his bicycle and grabbed the horse, stopping it before any damage occurred. Frank E Egett witnessed the incident.

Joseph G Cannon named permanent convention chairman. Credentials committee to meet at 4 and sit continuously until all contested cases are resolved.
Mrs Sullivan entertained guests yesterday from noon until about 1 pm at her street home. Mrs Ridge won first prize and Mrs Shelby took the booby prize. A six o'clock luncheon featured veal salad Waters Parker House rolls slaw ice cream coffee strawberries angel food cake and mint wafers.
Misses Hillman and Hendricks were guests at the Clarke home over Sunday. Miss Elsie Randall entertained friends last Saturday night with refreshments. Wm Maxwell spent Sunday at home. Mr and Mrs Gust Edmund and Miss Huldab Bright visited relatives near Packwood. A F Carlson lost a valuable cow. Miss Heston closed a term of school at No 6lass Friday. They had a picnic and a program in the afternoon. Miss Ida Larson spent last week with her sister Mrs EB Davis.
