Rome Men of Class May Be Needed in August Quotas

Moines July 24 It may be a fact that we will have to call some of our best two men into the service. Adj Gen Guy RiMerta says the total class 1 numbers may not be sufficient for August calls if July figures repeat. With 3,265 men entering Camp Wares during the three days ending July 29 there will be about 24,000 men in service during August. Only about 1,500 remain from the 1917 registration. General Logan notes the policy for class 1 exhaustion is uncertain and extensions or new reclassifications may be used through fall months.
