Draft will take fewer Jefferson county men for National Army
New census figures show Jefferson county must furnish 189 men instead of 240 to the National Army. About 130 men may be drafted from the county, with credit for Regular Army or National Guard enlistments. Rumors of a mock drawing caused alarm before officials clarified no drawing had occurred.
