George W. Unkrich has leased J. Roth's south side space and will stock hrs hoods notions and furnishing goods. He and Mrs Unkrich are in St Louis selecting stock and plan to open a fine new line in Pairfield around mid month. Unkrich recently left Risk Hurtdetler Co and has prior Lockridge dry goods experience.
A large company of twenty seven performs Under Southern Skies with beautiful scenery pretty costumes and a Halloween pumpkin dance. The play features southern melodies strong story and light comedy from dorky servants to southern aristocrats in a first class production at the Grand on Wednesday January 3.
Invitations issued through papers and the pulpit drew a continuous throng to the Methodist parsonage New Year day. Guests arrived despite wet streets and enjoyed music, orange sherbet, and jovial company hosted by Rev Thomas Osborn and his wife with out of town visitors Mrs Thames of Pittsburg and Miss Ruth Pace of Mt Pleasant among the guests.

It notes favorable climate, water works, and bustling commerce drawing customers from 20 to 30 miles.
Company M defeated a team from Ottumwa on Monday by a score of US to 20. The game had many fouls with Stolz of Ottumwa tallying ten fouls. Hef Brown played in the local test for the first time this season and performed commendably amid rough play.
Harry Livingston arrived from Wayland Thursday to visit relatives. He works as a brakeman on the Iowa Central and is currently on vacation.

The McMurtrys new residence drew many friends who extended warm wishes on the New Year entry and shared in the festive welcome.

Miss Valentina entertained about thirty guests at her Greenfield home on Friday evening December 20 1905 in honor of her cousin Leonard Valentine. The party featured a spider web string hunt and many dainty refreshments before guests departed after a pleasant evening.
J F Speck of Fairfield married Mary Fraser of Diagonal laws on Thursday December 21, 1005. The couple shared the ceremony at home on North Court Street and receive visitors and congratulations from neighbors, in a surprise home wedding.
