F C Hollister of near Telai ums entered 38 Single Comb Brown Leghorns at New London Poultry Show. His birds won first second and third cockerel second cock first and third hen and first second third and fourth pullet and first and third pen.
David McCarty, a well known Jefferson County resident, died suddenly Monday morning after rising to help his son with hogs. Born in Mary 231 he moved to Iowa in 1854 then Jefferson County. He was married to Sarah Ann Workman and survived by children Mor Perlee Seth and a son in Colorado.
Henry B. Barrow longtime Fairfield settler aged 71 died suddenly after supper in his home on West Jackson street. Born in England January 4 he came to the United States as a child and served in the Third Iowa Cavalry. He married Jemima Glover of Patrfield and helped raise a girl known as Dollie Harrow. He attended Episcopal services and was a member of George Strong Post No 19 Fairfield. funeral held Wednesday at the home.
