Thirteen Negro Soldiers Hanged in San Antonio

Thirteen soldiers were executed after an army court martial of 59 Negro troops charged with involvement in the Houston race riot. Fourty one received life terms, five were acquitted. The riot stemmed from killings of white officers and citizens. attempts to bring soldiers to civil trial failed.
