Wreck of Jackie Special injures 28 sailors near Summerville
The Jackie Special with 1000 men aboard and the Waukegan local collided in fog just north of Summerville station. Twenty eight jackies were hospitalized with injuries ranging from head contusions to sprains. most seriously hurt were in the rear coaches. G B Vilas ordered an immediate Northwestern investigation.
