Judge Beichelberger and the defense team were present with the defendant his wife and father as the verdict was read. After the reading the Gannons thanked the jurors and left for Davenport with their attorney M V Gannon after midnight.

Roy Spratt Hurt In Eye Injury At Grafton
Word from Grafton North Dakota says Roy Spratt suffered a serious eye injury while repairing machinery with Calyton Spratt. A sliver of steel from the hammer struck his eye and he was taken to a Grand Forks hospital for treatment.

Parsons defeated Wesleyan 7 to 3 in Mt Pleasant as Tim DuBois debuted as pitcher striking out nine and allowing no walks. State Fish and Game Warden George A. Lincoln sent 40 pairs of Hungarian Partridges to Jefferson County for restocking. The crates arrived in Fairfield from Yardley Pa on April 13 and most birds are in good condition. two died. Blue Grass Road project tour to visit local towns
Preparations are under way for a reception and routing committee of the Blue Grass Road to arrive at noon next Tuesday. J. P. Death of Early Jefferson County Settler Gustaf Schillerstrom
Gustaf Oscar Schillerstrom died Sunday at his son Gus Jr. home in Lockridge, Iowa after months of illness. Born February 2, 1617 in Hy Klingly Sweden, he settled in Jefferson County in 1346 with his wife Gustaf Oscar and family. He was 94 years old, a Baptist member since 1354, with sons Carl Oscar, Joseph, Paul, and Gustaf remaining in the area.

Fairfield To Host Expanded Southern Iowa Poultry Show
The Southern Iowa Poultry Show will be held in Fairfield during the first week of December. Local fanciers already express strong enthusiasm and plan a large regional event. Students Hear Practical Address On Agriculture As A Life Work
E D Y Culbertson of Round Prairie spoke to local high school students on agriculture as a life work, noting advantages and disadvantages compared with professions.
