Rail wage boost to about twenty percent expected
Washington reports Director General McAdoo promised a substantial wage rise for railroad employees around May 6 after the Liberty loan drive. The adjustment would date from January 1 and is expected to average about 20 percent, with lower paid workers receiving a larger share to offset high living costs. A wage adjustment board has completed its findings and will submit them to the director general on May 4.
