Methodist church raises second service flag in wartime ceremony
The Methodist church held a service flag ceremony with a second flag donated by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Flinspach in honor of their son Wade in the service. Medals were given to Boy Scouts who sold Liberty Bonds. Walter J. Fourt, a range finder on the battleship New York, spoke about naval life and the need for American support with men and money. The Stars on the flag honored service members from various units and duties, linking patriotism to the war effort.
