Deserter recounts cruelties aboard Bowhead whaler

Karl Faber, a deserter from the Bowhead, arrived in Seattle reporting the ship was frozen in at Herschel Island last winter. He says Arctic ocean voyage included brutal treatment by the captain and plans to sue the vessel owner in San Francisco for damages.
