Washington October 26 United Press Service President Roosevelt will celebrate his 50th birthday tomorrow. He has begun receiving congratulatory messages, more than twenty today.
Two transfers recorded signal potential out of court settlement on Golden and Home stake groups in Little Eldorado. L. C. Hess, large operator, received a twelfth of Golden via Leroy Tozier and a sixteenth via Cora Bevington, both for one dollar. negotiations continue for further transfers.
The new station and warehouse at Little Fidorado are completed and ready for business. J. M. Mangan will assume duties as the local agent at the station behind the counter starting tomorrow.
A Valdez to Fairbanks stage broke through ice on Gulkana Lake near Hogan Alaska. The horses drowned but mail and express were saved. The southbound relay left Fairbanks with Joe Chambers and John Trent as passengers. Details were sparse as telegraph wires were down.
The city heating plant failed to warm the office causing typesetting machines and presses to falter and a shortened edition. A telegraph line outage compounded the disruption, leaving observers surprised by the compact paper.

In Commissioner Miller's court today the jury ruled for defendant in the case Dogliani vs. Hilda Davis. Plaintiff claimed he loaned $45 between August 1 and October 1 and sought judgment for that sum. The jury could not agree with the plaintiff and returned a verdict for the defendant after a brief conference.
