Ice is running in the upper Yukon but three independent steamers remain to come through. The Prospector will sail tomorrow afternoon and the Healy arrived yesterday marking the season’s final arrival at Dawson.

In Seattle on October 17 the Pacific Coast Steamship Company steamer Cottage City crashed into the lumber schooner Blakely off Jefferson Head. The collision left the Cottage City badly damaged though not sunk. Passengers injured, Purser Jones rescued. Blakely remained seaworthy.
