United Press Service reports that Republican vice presidential nominee Sherman faces possible withdrawal due to lingering illness. He has shown little recovery since Cleveland and may be confined to a sick bed for much of the campaign, though campaign managers, and he himself, remain nonchalant about the outcome.
A notice announces Ed Orr’s delivery service expanding to three big loads weekly with twelve tons on extra trips. The ad emphasizes dependable routes and enhanced service levels for customers seeking consistent freight capacity.

San Francisco July 24. Jack Welsh agreed to referee the Ketchell Kelly bout scheduled for July 31 here. Welsh had said he would quit refereeing after the Gans Nelson fight but was prevailed upon to change his stance.
