Dawson July 22 Jack McCrimon was sentenced to 30 days at hard labor for operating the temperance dance hall. Mr Justice Dugas warned that further violations would bring harsher penalties.
St Petersburg July 22. The council of the empire adopted the naval budget including 5.5 million dollars for a new battleship. The Douma refused to sanction the construction and only 36 council members voted against the budget.
San Francisco July 22 United Press reports that Private Buwalda jailed for shackling Emma Goldman has had his sentence reduced. He was sentenced to three years but orders have been issued for his release and reconsideration following public pressure.
Seattle July 22. No sign of Captain S. E. Lewis of Solomon and Butte creeks Alaska since June 1. A large quantity of investors funds has disappeared with him, prompting concern over the missing leader and missing money.
