A thirty foot light draft launch is being shipped north for Tanana river service in Episcopal church missionary work. Archdeacon Stuck leads, with Dr. Grafton Burke aboard to serve Alaska Indians. Burke to use the craft on Tanana and Yukon patrols.
Reporter Fred Martin, California saloon proprietor, returns from the Smoke with glowing notes on Ophir Creek and nearby creeks in the Fairbanks district. He says the smoke shows up well for the time since the camp opened, with prospecting delayed by winter hauling. Ophir Little and Gaines creeks look best as E. J. Carlson runs the new town site. more prospecting is planned this summer.
