Siege of Castillejos: Moors attack repelled after bloody assault

The narrative recounts a late May assault at Castillejos. Moors, reinforced, attacked the Tenaille position as rain hampered operations. Spanish forces under Marquis de Lede held firm while multiple infantry and cavalry columns pressed the defense. After hours of heavy fire, the assault faltered and the enemy withdrew, suffering heavy losses and retreating with many dead and wounded.
