OLD BAILEY FIFTH DAY FOOTPAD-ROBBERY TRIALS END IN GUILTY VERDICT

Colchester Volunteers Take Oaths at Quarter Sessions
Ipswich January 13 Loyal Colchester Volunteers took the oaths of allegiance at the Quarter Sessions for Colchester. A dinner at the Three Cups Inn honored the Mayor and Corporation. John Fisher and Philip Crosby were found guilty of hat theft from Mr Rowland and Barn door lock theft from Mt Byam Hewes. all were sentenced to seven years transportation. Edward Thompson rescued a drowning farmer from Teversham near Cambridge after he fell into a horse pond, pulling him to safety.
