State Trials Indictment Read In Full At Margate Gaol

Yesterday copies of the indictment against James O Connor James Quigley Arthur O Connor John Binns John Allen Jeremiah Leary and others were delivered to prisoners in the gaol for high treason. The Crown lists 1013 witnesses and an abstract details three treasons seven overt acts and pressure to invade with French support. A list of the jury is appended with many Bromley Beckenham and Sevenoaks residents named and jurors from multiple parishes.

List of London and Ireland Officials and Residents Named

A long roster lists John King and W Wickham under Secretaries of State, Richard Ford, Henry Dealtry, and many others as officials, magisters, clerks, constables, and tradespeople across Bow Street, the Tower of London, Bow-street, Bow-street Public Office, and various towns in Kent, Cork, Dublin, Manchester, Margate, and Reading. The entry names judges, sheriffs, maistrates, victuallers, merchants, and servants, concluding with a note that Reading residents met to organize neighborhood protection after church.
