Patriotic Costume Maker Dies After 45 Years In Sioux Falls
Edward Becker who ran a local costume house for 45 years died aged 86 in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed parading in patriotic costumes on national days and was part of a fife and drum corps that performed at Grand Army of the Republic events. Funeral services are set for Thursday.

Farmer miraculously escapes tractor accident near Esmond
Charlie Crain, a five mile west of Esmond farmer with one arm, was thrown from his tractor on Saturday. He buried his face in the ground to avoid being run over by the disc, allowing the machinery to pass over his body, and afterward he rose unhurt with only slight bruises and drove the tractor home.

New Prison Wing To Be Inspected In South Dakota
State officials will inspect the new reformatory wing of the South Dakota penitentiary with a public tour Sunday.
