Sweet Is New Cadet Colonel at South Dakota ROTC
James Sweet, senior at the University of South Dakota, was named cadet colonel of the ROTC corps for the coming school year by Captain S. G. Backman. Sweet, son of Oliver Sweet of Washington, edited the Coyote yearbook and writes for the Volante. He belongs to Scabbard and Blade, Beta Theta Pi, Golden Circle, and Sigma Delta Chi.

Gettysburg report states Miss Mary Condon five died Wednesday from injuries in a Tuesday auto crash that killed Rev. M. J. Enright. Condon served as the priest’s housekeeper. John Coughlin, driver, was injured and expected to recover.

Death by cigarette fire in Deadwood home
A lit cigarette ignited a bed in which Mrs. Anna Burk slept, causing her death and threatening three other family members in Deadwood yesterday. The incident is under investigation by local authorities as firefighters battled the blaze.
