Two Die In Headon Collision Near Mitchell South Dakota
At highway No. 37 eleven miles north of Mitchell two men died in a head on crash. J. M. Bennett of Sioux City and G. E. Basham of Woonsocket were killed. Basham's son Sidney drove his father's ambulance. Basham, formerly of Artesian, and Bennett, a Martin Kettles salesman, died from head injuries and neck fractures. The Woonsocket undertaker Basham was survived by a widow and four children. The crash and funerals dominate the local report with details of the victims and survivors.
