Little Steel Wage Formula Faces Key Front Decisions
James Marlow reports that the War Labor Board and the administration confront whether to break the 1942 Little Steel wage formula before election day. About 1.8 million workers in steel, auto, meat packing, aluminum, electric, textile, and flat glass face potential increases, with panels delivering a 500 page report. The president may decide to preserve or break the formula as final recommendations reach the White House.
