New York reports add William Hassler, 71, to the Morro Castle death toll after pneumonia at Bellevue Hospital. Charles Elias, 54, found on Mantoqua Beach after being listed missing. Captain Robert R. Trapping Season Dates Announced for South Dakota

The state game and fish commission announced trapping dates with skunk trapping in certain counties from October 1, 1934 to March 31, 1935 and skunk in other counties from October 15, 1934 to March 18, 1935. CCC Youth Is Here In Drowning Rescue

In Ponca Nebraska on September 13 CCC youth Harry Luckey twenty Wayne Neb. rescued two women and two children from a car that plunged off a ferry into the Missouri River. From shore C E Lofgren Vermillion D. and B A Dutcher Burbank S tried to free occupants as the auto sank. Luckey jumped in and saved the remaining two passengers.

Hills Booths Win State Fair Honors at South Dakota

Crowds topped 20 000 as 25 cent admission beat last year’s gate. Lawrence county won project booth prize in agriculture and sweepstakes in horticulture with Carl Entors and Jason Weber leading the exhibits. Butte county took western sweepstakes while Clay and Brookings claimed regional honors. Endurance Fliers To Resume Trial In Moline Flight

Two women pilots Jean La Rene and Mary Oweng from Texas flew from Chicago to Moline to continue a 240 hour endurance record attempt. They planned to return this afternoon and press on after fog delayed their fifth try in the past month. Weather was favorable and a refueling contact occurred without incident.

Secretary of War George H Derr announced 2000 U S army regulars would be ready to move into the Rhode Island strike area if requested by the Rhode Island assembly. Capital weighs presidential intervention in textile strike

Washington reports speculating that President Roosevelt may step in to end the textile strike. The mediation board failed to secure agreement from manufacturers after two days of talks. Funeral for Louis L. Meyer in Wolsey Saturday

Louis L. Meyer of Wolsey, 58, died in a Huron hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Wolsey Presbyterian Church with Miss Fanny Mills officiating. Burial will be in Wolsey Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, one daughter Mrs. Leona Jansen of Iroquois, two brothers Fred and Henry Meyer of Florissant Station, Missouri, and a sister Mrs. Annie Trampe of Florissant Station. Born near Florissant Station December 7, 1875 he married there April 22, 1890. The Meyers farmed there until 1908 then moved to Beadle County seven miles southwest of Wolsey, where they lived since.

Gen. John J. Pershing marked his seventy fourth birthday in Vittel France with no ceremony. He received hundreds of congratulatory telegrams and letters while spending part of his time in France overseeing landscaping of eight military cemeteries where 7 385 Americans who served under him are buried.

BROOKINGS Sept. 13 Government cattle purchases in South Dakota are capped at 356 000 head after Sept 1. Ross Davies state county agent leader says this will cover all distressed cattle remaining in the state due to drought.
