Ideal marketing plan charted at state fair exhibit
A South Dakota Wheat Growers exhibit at the State Fair features a large diagram outlining centralized grain marketing possibilities. It shows Farmers Union, Grange, Farmers Elevator Association, and Farm Bureau supporting Farmers Cooperative elevators, financing, storage, processing, and selling via a pooling service linked to Farmers National Grain May & Co. The display aims to consolidate bargaining power as cooperatives market grain regionally, drawing intense interest from farm organizations and elevator members seeking broader cooperative marketing through terminal storage and local handling.
