Program Will Improve Farm Loan Service Nationwide
Washington report notes over 95 percent of the 4606 national farm loan associations have adopted a group management plan to consolidate offices and cut costs, forming about 1,500 central offices while each association keeps its identity. The change aims at one-stop credit service and shifts to salary-based office staff. The Farm Credit Act of 1937 expands borrower control with more elected directors and renames districts to Farm Credit Districts.
