Springs College Adds 4 To Staff
WESSINGTON SPRINGS Bert 10 Special Four new teachers join the music faculty at Wessington Springs Junior College to be announced by Dean Kellum Ruth Martin of the University of Nebraska will lead the piano department replacing Miss Bernce Barnard on leave of absence Miss Martin holds BFA AB and B Mus from Nebraska with several teaching years and summers at the University School of Music Miss Borghild Johnson of Bethany College Lindsborg Kansas will direct the college orchestra head the violin department She has AB from Bethany and postgraduate work at North Dakota and Columbia Universities with training at St Olaf Bethany and as pupil of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra conductor She has been Director of Music and Principal at Helland High School for four years Mrs Eunice King of Greenville College Professor Richard Traver who has accepted a pastorate King earned AB at Greenville and studied under noted instructors Nora Hunt of Michigan and Robert Woods of Greenville College Professor W R King of Greenville College will direct the chorus and glee club He earned AB at Greenville and has years of song leadership experience Each new staff member comes highly recommended.

About 8000 to 9000 residents gathered in Howard for the 50th anniversary celebration. More than 1000 attendees were fed at a noon barbecue. Golden wedding couples received prizes for long county residence as the Mitchell band played a concert.
