Police report a two man Denver New York swindle scheme that used unauthorized telegrams to mislead six New York banks and six Denver banks into directing $75 900 each to a Bank of Telluride account at Chase NY. Three Plead Guilty In Deadwood Court

In Deadwood South Dakota on September 5 three defendants entered pleas in federal court after noon. Thomas Wilcox Norris faced charges of stealing 64 bushels of corn from a government Indian allotment. Floyd Hodge of Rapid City paid a 150 dollar fine for possession of liquor. John Little Chief of Rosebud was fined 100 dollars for liquor possession and held in Lawrence County jail until payment. Mrs Mable Tampa of Rapid City pleaded guilty to liquor possession and faces sentence later.

Miller Fire Causes $12,000 in Damages at Esoph Garage

Fire at 4 o clock in the morning in Miller caused $12,000 plus losses. George Esoph garage building burned, destroying four cars, tires, and tools. Esoph household goods, two story brick structure under construction, and adjacent shops sustained damage. J W Cranmer, J A Fritzell, and J H Cole properties reported varying losses with several machines and goods affected. One wall of a new brick J C Penney structure was damaged but repairable.
