Body of Indian woman killed in crash near Pierre
Officials from Lower Brule reserve came to the Potter county jail to claim Lola De Sheuquette a 23 year old Indian who died when her 1928 Chevrolet coach crashed seven miles west of Gallup. Coroner's jury found Frank Log responsible as car’s occupant. Testimony showed Log intoxicated after accident. another occupant John Crow Exgle testified. A bottle of moonshine was found in car. De Sheuquette leaves three children.

Virgil Homemakers Plan November Club Party
The Virgil Home Makers Extension club met at Mrs. J. R Spiers home with good attendance. Christmas gifts were demonstrated by Mrs. L Fulton Mrs Eickelkamp Mrs Zammwalt and Mrs Rickard. Plans were made to hold a club party in November. Refreshments were served by Mrs Spiers Mrs Zumwalt and Mrs.
Mitchell youth assumes French club presidency at Wesleyan
Robert Wagner of Huron South Dakota was elected president of the college French club at Dakota Wesleyan University Mitchell. Miss Lota Hardy was elected secretary and treasurer and Mrs Ramon Douse will act as faculty advisor. The club meets the first Monday of each month at 8 o'clock replacing the Beta Theta Phi national honorary French fraternity which has been discontinued at Wesleyan.

Hunting Pheasants Draw Larger Game in Lake Beds
In Smet on October 2, pheasant hunting in local lake beds yielded not only birds but larger game. Wolves have been shot by hunters and a good sized deer was spotted crossing Lake Thompson Meadows, its fat, contented appearance noted as it galloped over fences. The deer had been seen off and on the past year.

Hyde county will ship three carloads of horses to eastern markets this week. AL L Hill sent a car to Fond Du Lac Wisconsin on Tuesday. E W Diteman and son and Wm Furgeson of Bushnell will ship two cars on Friday.
