Open Forum on Tariffs and Roosevelt Support
Dear editor I was interested last Saturday that the Evening Huronite has made public a stand for Roosevelt. I present the true facts on the tariff issue with statistics from Secretary Wallace and a critique of the Canadian Reciprocal Trade Agreement. I argue repeal is needed to protect American farmers and cite imports versus exports and the Smoot Hawley tariff. Donald Fisher.

Hopkins Works Program Faces Criticism in Local Projects
Critics cite multiple projects from Cahokia Creek to Skull Valley and Queens as examples of the Works Progress Administration program’s reach. Supporters argue communities were willing to share costs, while officials assert merit is often opinion and constrained by local affections. The program aims to relieve unemployment with government jobs, now under review by Congress.
