Highmore P T A Holds Notable Meeting
Over 75 members and friends attended the Highmore P T A meeting on October 16. The program focused on helping students start the school year right with talks on study and home study improvements. Faculty members discussed supervised study in the two high schools, and music by the junior girls glee club and a Hirokwas double quartet accompanied the program.

A large turnout attended St Marys church for a confirmation led by Bishop Mahoney of Sioux Falls. The 190 plus confirmants came from Blunt Harrold Highmore and Stephen with Indian children present. Miss Mabel Smith of Teachers college Columbia discussed the new South Dakota course of study and aided by Buffalo county teachers under Supt Gertrude Fyte in trial of the unit plan in Social Studies. Dr Nash spoke on South Dakota Correct Speech and The Ideal School.

Family seeks aid after house fire in Pleasant Valley

Federal hunters and the Black Hills Livestock Protective Association killed 43 coyotes 4 skunks 1 raccoon and 13 porcupines in September in the South Dakota Nebraska district of the U S Forest Service Louis Knowles predatory animals and rodent control director reported today Livestock losses included 2 calves 9 sheep 27 turkeys and 80 chickens Knowles said 9 acres of prairie dog infested land in the Lower Brule Indian reservation were poisoned during the month and 7 skunks were reported very numerous across the areas covered by federal hunters.

Mission Festival Services Across West Raymond and Nearby Towns
Rev and Mrs Schmeling from Henry joined Rev and Mr Fuerstenau after Tolstoy on Saturday for Mission festival sermons. All State Music Group To Appear In Sioux Falls
