Shanks Funeral Held At Preston
Double funeral of W. J. Shanks and his 17 year old son Vernon held at the Lake Preston high school auditorium. Rev. Bir Evans officiated. burial in Lake Preston cemetery. Pallbearers included former classmates of Vernon. Out-of-town mourners arrived by airplane and train. Mrs. Shanks and four children survive amid her critical condition. Church membership and pastor plans noted as Rev. Herbaker seeks growth and possible new pastor after Rev. Kennedy's departure.
