Two Kentucky sisters charm a thief with ham scheme
Major Meed’s granddaughters Kate and Caroline Meed travel to Louisville with four hams from their Meed farm. A stranger drives off with one ham after testing the bites, offers $500, and demands the secret ham recipe. Kate writes the recipe to secure funds, retrieves license plates, and the sisters settle the money at a bank before shopping for a dress for Kate while their bond grows.
