Why the Evening Huronite subscription cannot be cheaper

A long notice from CHAS. H. J. MITCHELL, president and publisher, explains that producing each Evening Huronite costs about $20 annually while mail and carrier subscriptions are $4 and $7.80 respectively. It blames advertisers for 75 percent of the extra cost and frames ads as a shared investment, arguing quality and delivery improved while costs fell for advertisers, urging readers to support local businesses and maintain news standards.
