Beadle County Rural Schools To Close For Cowdenson Day

Beadle County rural schools will close on Oct 18 for the first annual Cowdenson Day festival in Huron. The event expects up to 5000 visitors with free admission, morning movies, a free lunch, a large hot dog bar, prizes, and talks by Col Wentworth Kay Cave and Clifford Prantke. Slaughter, USD law student, in grave car crash injuries

Max Slaughter 23 of Yankton a USD law student was seriously hurt in a single vehicle crash near Elk Point last night. Hospital attendants said his condition remained grave today. RAF crews parachute to safety after crashes

Couch Claims Car Theft Not Kidnapping Case

Minneapolis reports that Gerb or John Couch testified in federal court that while he tied Daniel Fahey and Miss Percy Gross to a car and moved them from St. Louis to Champlin, he asserts it was only stealing a car and not kidnapping.
