Eighth grade pupils document attendance spelling and discipline on color coded charts used by Miss Glanzer. Perfect attendance earns orange marks, perfect spelling earns blue, while discipline progress moves a car icon forward or stalls for violations. Drawn Mother Goose characters by Whittier School pupils

Harmful Insects Studied At Dettmer School
Theodore McFanning of the Dettmer School says farm boys and girls should recognize harmful insects. Students, including fifth and sixth graders, study crop pests in science class and plan to mount specimens after completion. Margele Jeffers teaches the class. Tyrrell pupils have read thirty seven library books, with Donna Belle Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Joyce Ehleinsassar, Silas Wipf, Laura Schwartz, Laroy Schwartz, and Kenneth Pullman each tallying several titles.
